Hello all. Its been a long time since I went for a holiday somewhere. Last month I got some time off from my schedule so I decided to go on a holiday to Delhi. I always wanted to visit Delhi
sometime as it is not only the capital city of the country but also the city with immense history and loads of heritage. I wanted to visit all the places of national and historical importance. I
booked tickets by train from Bangalore to Delhi. For such a long route I thought it will be convenient to travel by AC.
There are Bangalore to
New Delhi Trains which runs on weekly basis. Everyday there are at least 3 or 4 trains which leaves for Delhi. The best among all the superfast trains is the Karnataka Express (12627).
The train leaves the Bangalore City Junction at 7:20 PM . I had reached the station at 7 Pm and went inside my coach to settle down for a 40 hour travel. There were many peopple who were also
visiting Delhi and I started chatting with a few of the locals who guided me on the places to seee and some things to avoid in Delhi.
The train travels along the central part of the country and within the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and finally reaches the New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS). I had
some very good food from the station ranging from vada pavs and Poha. There were also samosa, kachoris which were available in different stations. It was a good fun to travel a long distance by
train and see the diverse lifestyle and culture from the train window. The passing greenery from he window seemed amazing.
The train reaches New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) at 10:30 AM after 40 hours of extensive travel around the length and breadth of central India. The
atmosphere at New Delhi Railway Station was very chaotic but anyhow I managed to reach the exit of the station peacefully where I hired a taxi to reach my hotel. The hotel was booked by me in
advance for the trip.
