Bungee Jumping in Rishikesh

If you consider adventure to be your forte then there is nothing more adventurous than jumping from the height of 83 meters over a rocky cliff. Yep, we are talking about bungee jumping one of the extreme sports in the world. This sport is tailor made for people who love to themselves and extend their boundaries. A Sport that is love by adrenaline junkies throughout the world.

In recent times, this sport has grown to become one of the top adventurous sports in India with countless participants every year. It is said that this is a 1,500-year-old sport but became very famous during the 1980’s.

In Rishikesh, the visitors are provided Cantilever metal platform built over a rocky cliff. Here you get a chance to jump over heart stopping height and feel the adrenaline pumping across your veins. For me, the idea behind indulging in such an insane sport was just to face my fear of heights and I did it. It is amongst the unforgettable moments of my life.

The Bungee Jumping experience as created by David Allardice who is a Bungee jumping veteran from New Zealand. His idea behind this initiative was to promote bungee jumping in India.

At the end of a jump, you are lowered down to a dropping zone that is a river with just two feet of water. Jumpers walk towards a beautiful restaurant and check out your Bungee jumping photos and video footage. After every successful jump, you are provided with a Dare to Jump Certificate, which is quite an accomplishment according to me.

The minimum age required for these activities is 12 years and a person must weigh between 35 kg to 110 kg.

Apart from bungee jumping, visitors in Rishikesh can also indulge in various other adventurous activities such as Flying Fox Jump, Swing jump , River rafting and many more.

The term Flying Fox may be new to most of you people. So let me explain it to you. In this activity, you are attached to a rope and released from a height of 120 meters. You ride from to bottom at an exhilarating speed of 160 kmph.

After reaching the drop zone, you can go back to the restaurant and check the photos and videos. Three people can participate in this ride simultaneously. Therefore, you can bring in your friends or family and enjoy this exciting ride together. Swing jump is a similar activity the only difference is that you swing way down to the drop zone

With so many thrilling activities, Rishikesh has become the favourite destination for adventure travellers in India.
