Last week after the completion of a major project at work, we were all given a week off to celebrate! Not only was this extremely hard to believe or digest but also extremely exciting! So, first things first, I made plans for the whole week and decided to make the most of it. During those cramped short lunch breaks at work I overheard someone talking about a trekker’s paradise in Pune. On the internet, I found that the place was called Rajmachi and it had seemed like the perfect vacation for my week off! So I packed my bags and set off on an interesting journey.
On reaching Pune station, I took a local train to Lonavala and from there found the lodging where I had booked myself into. Too excited to wait any longer, I didn’t waste any time unpacking my bags and waited till my trek group were ready. It was so nice to see so many people from different backgrounds enjoy adventure like I do! I expected this trek to be amazing and memorable. I had my second love, my camera, in hand to capture the scenery as long as the human eye can see!
The trek was indeed memorable and amazing. Some people in my group were beginners but this trek was suitable even for them. We reached Rajmachi in 2 days’ time which is perfect for a short trek. We weren’t rushed or hastened. The place had two forts, Shrivardhan fort and Manaranjan fort. We also visited the old caves of Kondhavi which was really captivating. I was mesmerized by all the lush greenery around me. There were old trees that were covered in moss and housed the most spectacular species of birds. Not to mention the quiet and calm around these areas and the slight sound of water gushing nearby. I was so glad I had my camera to capture everything I was looking at; truly technology is also God-given. I can’t wait to bring my family and friends to this place!
