I had never visited a luxury hotel before. My budget only permitted me to stay in 2 star and 3 star hotels before becoming an IT professional. Thanks to my company… the first time that I was offered a stay in a luxury hotel was when I was a full-fledged software engineer of a prestigious company. The hotel that the company booked my stay was Metropole Hotel. I had only seen such hotels in movies and on the Internet! This was the first time that I set foot on a luxury hotel and I was thrilled by the fact that I was going to stay there!
I was checked-in within minutes, by the amiable hotel staff. As I walked to my room, I saw the elaborate adornments that decorated the walls of the hotel. I stayed in a Heritage Room. The room
was tastefully done, and had cozy and stylish amenities. I first went to a shower. The bathroom was equipped with ultra modern toiletries. This was when I recalled a subject called Ergonomics
that I had studied during my post graduation. I realized the importance of designing equipments ergonomically. After a shower, I dried my hair using the hair dryer, and sat simply luxuriating
amidst the luxurious amenities offered in the beautiful and cozy room.
The room had a cool mini-bar, a refrigerator, and a safe. It was an electronic safe and so, I confidently deposited my laptop and a few of my credentials in the safe. I then got out of my room to have food. The restaurant 'Tiger Trail' intrigued me. I couldn't identify with the significance of the name though. It was a lovely multi-cuisine restaurant and I settled for some Chinese food. It was a good dining experience in the hotel. After a sumptuous feast, I went back to my room.
I had to check mails and talk to my company and so switched on my laptop and connected to the Internet to the Wi-Fi. I was dazed by the speed with which pages loaded. I was informed by my company
that I had to deliver a presentation to one of our company's clients who stayed in the same hotel. I made use of the meeting rooms in the hotel. It was a good stay in the hotel, and I have told
my company to book this hotel for all my future stays in Mysore. The hotel staffs also informed me that they could organize sight seeing trips for me to the national park, which had wildlife and
good options for photography…this, was like a final plum to the pudding!
