Being an IT professional, I have had the chance to travel to several places within India and abroad for on-site assignments. I have never felt traveling to be a pain, because I believe that travelling opens a doorway to my passion of exploring new places. I stayed in Mysore for an onsite assignment during the month of September till March. I was told by my colleagues that this was probably the best season in Mysore and they told me to take advantage of the pleasant weather and have fun.
I was checked-in to a neat three-star resort situated near the Mysore Palace. At night, I moved out to explore the place. I took some photographs of the brilliantly lit Mysore Palace at different angles. Then, I walked for a while enjoying the cool breeze which seemed to soothe both my body and soul. The next day being a Sunday, I got ready to enjoy some adventurous activities. I got ready with my tracksuits and trekker bag to visit the Chamundeshwari Hills. I loved the trek up the hill but this was the first time that I was going on a trek alone. I wished my friends were with me, and felt sad that they missed the lovely trek. I also found rare species of flora in the hill, that I had not seen in any national park or botanical garden. As I walked, I enjoyed the animals that could be seen there. I felt lucky to see a spotted deer and a wild boar.
I took photographs of the animals and also of plants and trees that fascinated me. I wish I could do paragliding or bungee jumping. However, I knew that it was not safe for me to try them in the huge hill, especially without any guides. Moreover, I had also not brought my safety devices. So, I dropped the idea. I then reached the holy shrine of Goddess Chamundeshwari adorned in a golden throne. I worshipped the Goddess and sought her blessings. I am planning to find some trekking groups who camp in this hill, so that I could rappel along the hill when I come to Mysore next time.
