I got so sick of working day in and day out that when summer came I welcomed it with all my heart. I had wanted nothing more than a comfy retreat and mostly somewhere I can beat the heat and so it wasn’t much of a surprise when after much looking into I decided to settle on Darjeeling. This beautiful little hill station was just what I needed and proved to be a balm to my soul. Now the matter at hand was to pick one of the best hotels in Darjeeling and that proved to be just a minor speed bump in an otherwise wonderful vacation.

I first set my eyes on the Mayfair Darjeeling a beautiful five star hotel perched at one of the highest points in the city. This hotel is surrounded by scenic beauty and it has a touch of elegance to it. I just had to stay there! So when I first made my way to the hotel I was a bit apprehensive as I did not know what to expect.

The rooms were a reflection of the beauty that nature had blessed Darjeeling with and once I was done admiring the rooms and its gorgeous interiors the hotel staff was nice enough to guide me to the travel desk where I booked a tour of the local sights and the nearest wildlife sanctuary. From the moment I checked in, till the moment I checked out and every moment in between was an entirely new experience for me and I would like to escape permanently from work just to stay at the hotels in Darjeeling!
